Job Description

This is a technical position that requires proven infrastructure architecture and design experience.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and customer service focus, as well as excellent technical network and security knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support multiple clients across multiple technologies
  • Mentoring of junior team members.
  • Consult with customers and across a cross-team environment.
  • Documentation and development of designs, processes and procedures.
  • Work within a structured ITIL / ISO20000 IT Service Management environment.
  • Works directly with client to gather requirements, design solutions, build proof of concepts and implement solutions
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills arising from customer facing and on-site experience
  • Very strong verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Escalation point for major incidents/investigations
  • Core Competencies Required
  • Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture & Design – Skilled in developing and implementing scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Virtualization Technologies – Deep expertise in VMware v Sphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, and virtualization strategies for consolidation, optimization, and disaster recovery.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity – Strong knowledge of DR planning, replication technologies (VMware SRM, Pure Storage), and aligning RTO/RPO objectives with business needs.
  • Storage & Backup Solutions – Proficient in SAN/NAS design, Fibre Channel networking, and enterprise backup/recovery platforms (Veritas Net Backup, Veeam, LTO libraries).
  • Data Centre Modernization & Migration – Experienced in large‑scale data centre migrations, infrastructure refreshes, workload consolidation, and cross-platform integration (Linux, Windows).
  • Network Architecture & Security – Skilled in network design, firewall rule flow, VLANs, VPNs, Cisco infrastructure, and secure access architecture.
  • Identity & Access Management – Knowledgeable in Active Directory, Okta, Microsoft PKI, and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Technical Leadership – Proven ability to lead complex projects, resolve technical challenges under pressure, and deliver on deadline‑driven objectives.
  • Documentation & Solution Design – Experienced in producing high‑quality technical design documentation to support infrastructure projects and operations.
  • Regulated Environments – Demonstrated success designing and operating infrastructure in highly regulated, security‑conscious environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiar with enterprise level ITSM tool, e. g. Service Now
  • Experience working across multiple customers with complex IT estates
  • Next Gen monitoring experience would be valuable, e. g. Data Dog, New Relic etc
  • Git Hub experience
  • Project management certifications e. g. Prince2
  • ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
