The Strategy and Planning team sits within the PBWM Chief of Staff function.

It acts as a strategic partner to the PBWM Executive Committee, senior leadership, Barclays Group, and key external stakeholders.

The team helps define PBWM’s long-term vision, translate that vision into clear strategic priorities, and support disciplined execution across its transformation agenda: Strengthen, Scale and Sustain.

Purpose of the role

As Senior Strategy and Planning Manager, you will lead high-impact strategic projects that shape the future direction of PBWM.

You will combine market insight, commercial analysis and internal performance data to identify opportunities and risks, evaluate strategic choices, and provide clear recommendations to senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Experience And Capabilities

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in strategy, strategic planning, business transformation or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of private banking, wealth management or a closely related financial-services sector.
  • Demonstrable experience shaping business strategy and translating it into executable plans.
  • Experience developing strategic propositions, products, services or distribution solutions, including digital channels.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, including the ability to interpret financial, market and operational data.
  • A structured and creative approach to solving complex, ambiguous business problems.
  • Experience developing robust business cases and evaluating strategic trade-offs.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at executive and Board level.
