Join us as a Senior Commercial Strategy Manager, based in London, where you will play a key role in shaping commercial strategy across UK Corporate Banking, Global Transaction Banking and International Corporate Banking. You will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, helping define strategic direction, prioritisation and outcomes across key commercial areas.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Product, Payments, Coverage, Finance, Data and Technology, leading complex cross‐functional work and ensuring strategy translates into clear, practical outcomes. You will use market, client and commercial insight to guide decision‐making and support delivery against business priorities. Working in a collaborative environment, you will lead end‐to‐end problem solving, develop clear recommendations and support senior decision‐making. Alongside this, you will maintain a focus on risk and control, ensuring decisions consider trade‐offs and align to regulatory expectations.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • Significant experience in commercial strategy, consulting, product strategy or similar roles within financial services or a regulated environment
  • Ability to define and reframe complex business problems and guide direction
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and shaping decisions without direct authority
  • Ability to balance detailed analysis with practical outcomes and timely delivery
  • Clear communication skills, with experience presenting to senior audiences
  • Experience leading complex cross‐functional work and coordinating senior stakeholders
  • Understanding of commercial drivers, client needs and market dynamics within corporate or transaction banking
  • High attention to detail and a focus on quality outputs

Purpose of the role

To provide independent and balanced advice and counsel to senior stakeholders through problem identification, solving and decision making practices.

Accountabilities

  • Provision of strategic advice to Group Executives to support the decision‐making process of business challenges and opportunities.
  • Development and implementation of strategic advisory incentives to grow and optimise the bank's operations, through market research and analysis.
  • Collaboration with various stakeholder groups to identify the appropriate strategic direction type to meet the needs of Barclays clients and investors.
  • Development of financial models to support strategic recommendations and transactions through financial data analysis, financial projects and considering the financial impact of transactions.
  • Management of transactions, negotiations, transaction structure development and post‐transaction integration.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to maintain client relationships, and develop new relationships to identify opportunities.
  • Identification of industry trends, maintain peer benchmarking and developments related to strategic advisory services by attending conferences, participating in training and conducting market research.
