Day Rate: £400 - £450
Role Purpose: Provide temporary QA / Test Engineering support through Release 1 and hypercare, with a focus on establishing a structured QA approach across functional testing, integration validation, regression testing, release verification and defect management. The role is intended to improve release confidence, reduce reliance on developer-led testing, and support a safe move to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the QA approach
- Assess current testing coverage
- Identify gaps in functional, integration and regression testing
- Define what needs to be tested before Release 1
- Help shape the overall QA approach across Dev and UAT and production readiness
- Clarify where manual testing is sufficient and where automation could be introduced later
- Create test coverage and reusable test assets
- Write test cases and test scripts
- Build reusable regression packs
- Create smoke test checklists for release validation
- Map test coverage back to requirements / user stories in Azure DevOps
- Ensure test packs cover both user journeys and integration‑heavy flows
- Support functional and E2E testing
- Validate key Nebula workflows from an end‑user perspective
- Support UAT preparation and execution
- Help Product Lead and Delivery Lead structure UAT activity and evidence
- Work with friendly users / pilot users where needed to smoke test key flows
- Create and maintain test cases
- Create and maintain regression packs
- Create and maintain reusable test scenarios
- Create and maintain release validation checklists
- Improve traceability between requirements, defects and test coverage in Azure DevOps
- Support Integration Validation
- Test end‑to‑end behaviour across the Nebula jigsaw puzzle, including Dynamics workflows, Transcriber, Whitespace API integrations, Xuber / RMS binding flow where applicable
- Validate data accuracy and data movement between systems
- Support verification that ingested data is complete, accurate and usable
- Defect Management and UAT Support
- Coordinate and structure defect triage
- Support defect reproduction and prioritisation
- Support UAT planning and execution
- Work with Product, Engineering and Delivery to track resolution and sign‑off
Skills And Experience:
- Proven experience in QA or test engineering within complex technology delivery environments
- Experience supporting release readiness, smoke testing and production validation
- Strong functional, integration and regression testing capability
- Ability to validate data integrity and workflow behaviour across interconnected systems
- Experience managing defects, supporting triage and coordinating UAT activities
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for test coverage and traceability
- Strong collaboration skills across Product, Engineering and business stakeholder groups
