About Lendable
Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money.
- We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:
- One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people
- Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
- Profitable since 2017
- Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
- Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)
- So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch:
- loans, credit cards and car finance
. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.
We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.
- Join us if you want to
- Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
- Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
- Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting
About The Role
Personal loans are the fastest-growing consumer credit product in the US – originations increased 26% last year alone to a record high.
Americans are actively seeking cheaper, faster, more transparent alternatives to credit card debt and traditional bank loans.
Having built a market-leading, profitable business in the UK, Lendable launched US Personal Loans in 2022.
Four years of building credit models, customer journeys, operational infrastructure and nearly $500m in originations – and the foundation is set.
What comes next is the exciting part: aggressive growth into the largest lending market in the world.
We’re hiring a Product Manager to own multiple product areas to support this expansion – defining strategy, shipping features, and driving outcomes end-to-end.
What you’ll be doing
This isn’t a "write tickets and attend standups" PM role. You’ll own real problems such as:
- Getting our proprietary credit models into production – working with data science to turn research into real lending decisions
- Designing and personally building automations that make our operations team dramatically more efficient
- Using data to ideate the most valuable initiatives that could improve credit quality, reduce losses, help the customer, or grow volume
- Figuring out how best to use LLMs to intelligently aid with customer service, servicing, collections
- A/B testing customer journeys from application through to servicing – finding what actually moves conversion, satisfaction, and repayment
- Improving the post-origination experience – payments, customer support, and everything that happens after a loan is funded
- Leading the team, aligning and motivating everyone around you, continuously improving the tools and processes we use to deliver at speed
- Your team
You’ll Report To The Head Of Product And Collaborate Closely With The Managing Director Of US Loans. You’ll Join Three Other PMs And Work Most Closely With
- ~14 engineers (mostly backend), split across London and Europe
- A data science team (2–3 people) building credit and pricing models
- A credit risk team (~4 people) – some of your closest collaborators
- A growth team (1–2 people) focused on acquisition
- Operations agents – you’ll build the tools that make their work better
The team spans our London office, European remote engineers, and our Arlington, Virginia office near DC.
AI at Lendable – we’re serious
We want to build the most AI-forward financial services company in the world.
Our PMs don’t just manage products.
They use AI to push the boundaries of what one person can achieve.
Today, PMs at Lendable write python and SQL to generate analytical insights that used to need teams of analysts.
They commit PRs to production for straightforward features.
They build their own agent workflows to automate repetitive work.
The PM role here is genuinely expanding in all directions, and we expect you to be excited about this.
You’ve been tinkering already – side projects, personal agents, AI-assisted analysis, building tools with Claude Code or similar.
You don’t wait to be told what AI can do; you’ve been finding out yourself.
If you want to work somewhere that treats AI as a force multiplier for ambitious people – not a bullet point on a slide deck – this is it.
- What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in Product, Strategy, or Analytics; at least 1 in a PM role
- 1+ years in fintech, financial services, or a strong grasp of lending and credit
- You’re a highly curious, systems thinker who connects dots and thinks through end-to-end impact
- You’ve built with AI – agents, workflows, code generation, analysis. Show us what.
- Track record of shipping products that moved real business metrics
- Very comfortable with data, analysis and SQL – you know what questions to ask, and you answer them yourself
- Bonus: high-growth startup or scale-up experience
Don’t worry if you don’t quite meet all of these criteria, we’d love to have a chat with any great candidates!
- Your objectives
- You break complex problems into shippable pieces
- You decide under ambiguity and own the outcome
- You communicate crisply – to the MD, to engineers, in a spec
- You build cross-functional relationships and pull the right people together
- You move fast, default to action, and course-correct when needed
Compensation
- Strong base salary benchmarked to market, scaled to your experience and level
- Equity vesting over four years. Lendable has been profitable since 2017 – one of very few fintechs globally that can say that – and is building towards what comes next.
- Interview process
- We Respect Your Time And Move Quickly
- Intro call (remote) – 30 min with our talent team (~Week 1)
- Product chat (remote) – 45 min with the Head of Product to discuss your background and how you think about product (~Week 2)
- Take-home exercise (remote) – a practical product challenge in your own time, followed by a video debrief (~Week 2-3)
- Final round – typically CPO, US Loans MD, and Engineering Manager, Head of Product (~Week 3)
- Life at Lendable
- Winning team: the opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies
- Flexible working: flexible approach tailored to each role.
Hybrid roles require three days in-office weekly; fully remote roles include regular opportunities for in-person connection through socials and off-sites
- Socials & connection: opportunities and events to come together, socialise, and get to know each other beyond the office walls
- Health coverage: support for your physical and mental wellbeing, including private health cover
- Retirement & savings: long-term financial wellbeing through retirement savings plans
- Employee referral programme: earn a competitive bonus when you refer successful new team members
- Office meals & snacks: enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, plus complimentary lunches prepared by in-house chefs on in-office days at select locations
