Overview
Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
The Role
As the Product Lead for Credit at Wise, you will be building Wise’s first credit products. You will be creating the Credit domain, with the remit to launch Business and consumer credit cards globally and work across Wise to define the ‘what’s next’ for other credit products. You will work with a global high performing, cross functional squad of engineers, designers and analysts, moving from strategy to the execution of high-impact pilots.
What You’ll Do
- Build the "Wise Point of View": Synthesize market research, customer pain points, and regulatory landscapes to create a definitive strategic recommendation for Wise's credit roadmap.
- Be a Customer Champion: Deeply understand the credit needs of our customer base. Use data and user research to identify where traditional credit products fail them and how Wise can solve those problems uniquely.
- Drive Strategic Execution: Work with Global Product Teams to help refine building and shipping initial versions or pilots of chosen credit features. This includes defining requirements for lean underwriting, application flows, and repayment infrastructure.
- Be Data-Driven: Use an analytical mindset (including SQL) to build financial models, forecast portfolio performance, and define the KPIs that will prove the success of our credit initiatives.
- Collaborate with Regulatory and Compliance: Work extensively with 3rd line Compliance and Product Compliance teams to ensure we solve for regulatory barriers without compromising the product experience.
- Collaborate and Influence: Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to navigate the complex global regulatory landscape and ensure any credit path we choose is scalable and robust.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in product management, with significant experience in fintech or financial services—specifically in high-growth or ‘0-1’ environments.
- Strategic Depth: Proven ability to take a broad, ambiguous problem space and distill it into a clear, actionable strategy and point of view.
- Credit Domain Expertise: A strong understanding of the credit ecosystem, including risk assessment, lending regulations, and the economics of different credit products.
- Data-Driven Mindset: The ability to use data (including SQL) to inform your decisions, prove your hypotheses, and tell a compelling story to stakeholders about the future of credit at Wise.
- Bias for Action: You are hands-on and willing to do everything needed—from deep-dive research to writing product requirements—to make the team and product successful.
- Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for Wise’s mission and a desire to bring transparency and fairness to the world of credit.
