Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with solid experience in manual testing across desktop, web, and mobile platforms, and a strong understanding of UI/UX and API testing. You will be a key contributor to ensuring our products meet high standards of usability, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute manual test plans and test cases for desktop, web, and mobile applications.
- Perform detailed UI/UX testing to ensure intuitive and accessible user experiences.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, validating endpoints, data integrity, and error handling.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners and the wider business to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Log and manage defects using test management tools (e.g. Jira, Xray).
- Support accessibility testing efforts to ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. WCAG).
- Contribute to test documentation and knowledge sharing within the QA team.
- Provide input into automation efforts and work alongside automation engineers where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
- Solid experience in manual testing across desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX testing principles and user-centred design.
- Hands-on experience with API testing, particularly using Postman.
- Exposure to accessibility testing tools and standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Xray, TestRail).
- Basic proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data across different environments.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Some experience or interest in test automation (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber) is desirable but not essential.
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification (or equivalent) is required.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with performance testing and load testing tools (e.g. JMeter, Gatling) would be desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and debug complex software issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
