The IT Security Engineer is responsible for maintaining, implementing and improving the internal IT security systems. The IT Security Engineer will work with relevant stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant IT systems aligned with internal and external standards, policies and procedures.
The role requires deep knowledge and experience with multiple security tools focusing on, but not limited to, the Microsoft security suite.
About the Team
The IT team maintains and secures our IT infrastructure, network, equipment and tools. We provide a range of internal services, from supporting Apple Mac users worldwide to managing Microsoft 365, Zscaler, JAMF, IDP, and security tooling such as Purview and Defender.
What You'll Be Doing
- Continuous improvement of internal IT security systems covering Microsoft 365, Defender, Purview, Email security, Apple Macs and third‐party SaaS solutions
- Run or assist in running vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses
- Identify and plan implementations of new security tools as needed
- Work closely with the parent organization to address and resolve IT security vulnerabilities and findings promptly
- Monitor security alerts for incidents, classify and handle them following established processes
- Gather evidence and maintain documentation for security and compliance audits
- Collaborate with other business teams to ensure security best practices are in place and aligned with business policy

Technical Requirements
- Expertise with Microsoft security systems including Defender and Purview
- Expertise with device management and security
- Experience with data security tools
- Experience with Apple Macs and related security tools
- Understanding of the security requirements relating to ISO 27001
