The role of HR Manager at British Airways is unique due to the scale, pace, and complexity of our operation, combined with long-standing trade union partnerships and layered contractual policies. This HR Manager role sits at the centre of that environment, where you'll work across employee relations, policy, reward, and business support. You will interpret policies, question their use when needed, and use them to build fair outcomes within a multifaceted, unionised environment.
We are on a journey to modernise our HR technology, and this role will play a broader part in that. In the meantime, you'll need to be comfortable working in an environment that isn't always straightforward while helping us improve how we operate for the future. This role is a genuine stepping stone into strategic HR Business Partnering and would suit someone who has developed in a complex or highly regulated organisation.
What You'll Do
- Advise on a wide range of our most complex employee relations cases, providing clear, balanced, and commercially sound advice.
- Interpret and apply intricate policies and agreements in a practical and consistent way.
- Partner with leaders on day-to-day people matters as well as longer-term workforce considerations with the Strategic HR Business Partners.
- Support across reward, organisational and generalist HR activity, including the colleague lifecycle or analysing people data.
- Work closely with trade unions, understanding and applying collective agreements (where applicable).
- Find opportunities to simplify and improve processes within our ongoing HR transformation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence outcomes across the business.
