Primary Objective
Ensures the 24/7 reliability, security, and performance of physical and virtual infrastructure. Manage hardware installation, monitor electrical/cooling systems, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate maintenance, acting as first responders to incidents.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking devices, and storage equipment
- System Monitoring: Monitor environmental controls (HVAC, temperature, humidity) and power systems (generators, UPS) to ensure optimal operating conditions
- Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Act as first responders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and network issues
- Maintenance & Security: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on infrastructure, and adhere to physical security protocols
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, including inventory records, change management logs, and incident reports
- 24/7 Reliability: Ensure continuous uptime and performance of physical and virtual infrastructure
- Electrical/Cooling Systems: Monitor and manage electrical systems (generators, UPS) and cooling systems (HVAC)
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data center operations or related IT infrastructure roles
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of servers, structured cabling, data center environmental systems (power/cooling), and network infrastructure
- Certifications (Optional): CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, or CCNA
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work on-call, and excellent team collaboration
Work Location: Must work onsite in Client's Data Centre - West London area
Working Hours: 0800 to 1600 Monday to Friday (with on-call availability for 24/7 support)
Security Clearance: UK nationals only for SC clearance (British passport, no dual nationality, 5 years continuous UK residency)
