The Role: Corporate Communications Lead

We are seeking a Corporate Communications Lead to develop and deliver strategic communications that champion our corporate narrative, promote our strategy, and strengthen brand reputation across the media landscape.
What You'll Do
- Create, develop, and deliver a comprehensive plan of corporate communications activity that promotes British Airways' strategy, objectives, and corporate narrative, always seeking innovative ways to present information.
- Deliver all core corporate communications content, including financial reporting, annual reports, and sustainability communications, translating complex data and issues into clear, engaging narratives.
- Proactively identify and deliver high-value media opportunities, including coverage, interviews, and thought leadership, which amplifies the voice of our leadership and aligns with business objectives.
- Partner closely with our CEO and C-suite to develop media engagement strategies, create compelling speeches, briefs, and presentation content for both UK-based and global events, and initiate external profile opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key journalists and industry correspondents, ensuring our voice is well represented in the media and supporting the smooth running of the press office and Media Centre, especially during times of disruption or crisis.
- Amplify all communications work via other stakeholders in Corporate Affairs, including Public Affairs, Communications Business Partners, and Social Media teams.
- Monitor competitor and industry activity, sharing insights and ensuring strategic communications are amplified across wider Corporate Affairs channels.
- Participate in crisis preparedness and on-call activities to support reputational resilience and contribute to the wider team as needed.
Hybrid Working Model & Weekend Cover Requirements
This role is based on a low hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of four days a week in the Waterside (WTS) HQ office based adjacent to Heathrow's terminal 5. You will also participate in a shared team rota for phone cover across some weekends to ensure robust media coverage and operational support. Weekend duties are distributed fairly among team members, including some Bank Holiday periods.
