This role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of a robust data platform that enables advanced analytics and solutions to strengthen security defences. The engineer works closely with cross‑functional data teams to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with cybersecurity goals.
As an Associate Data Platform Engineer in the Cyber Data Platform team, you will support real‑time, near real‑time and batch data architectures, implement data integration and transformation frameworks, produce high‑quality code and documentation, and implement automation and DevOps practices. You will collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve data platform operation issues and provide support as needed.
Responsibilities- Support the implementation of real‑time, near real‑time and batch data architectures that support threat detection, incident response and reporting through advanced analytics, machine learning and GenAI capabilities.
- Implement automated frameworks for integrating data from various security sources into the security data lake and move data between the raw, trusted and curated data layers.
- Produce high‑quality code and documentation of data platform architecture, processes and best practices.
- Implement automations and DevOps practices to streamline deployment, configuration and management of data platform components.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve data platform operation issues and provide necessary support.
- Strong, proactive communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with collaborative development methods such as pair programming.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration tools such as Airflow and DBT.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks or similar).
- Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed systems such as Event Hub/Kafka, Spark.
- Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Desire to learn about cybersecurity principles and practices.
