Employing more than 1,800 people, Boeing Defence UK provides long-term support for more than 120 Boeing military rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircrafts in the UK. For example, the Chinook and Apache helicopters, and the Poseidon and C-17 airplanes. Our support ranges from mission critical Logistics Information Services, next generation in-flight digital tools, to aircraft and operational modelling and simulation methodology.

The Role
Boeing’s Defence UK Digital Function is at the forefront of delivering innovative programmes within the Defence and Security sectors across the UK. We are seeking a Land / Air Solution Owner to join our team. This role will primarily focus design and execution of a significant programme of work for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the Engineering and Logistics domain.
Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.
This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of your role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Establishing and evolving Land / Air user needs, requirements and business processes with customers.
Ensuring that planning of activities to deliver Land / Air products and services has addressed all activities needed to meet the user needs, requirements and business processes of customers.
Reviewing and approving impact assessments (customer or Boeing trade off driven) for Land / Air product and services.
Reviewing and approving Land / Air design baselines.
Presenting Land / Air solutions at Joint Solution Coherence Reviews.
Engaging with customer for generation development of Verification (system) and Validation (user) test strategy for Land / Air systems and services
Reviewing and approving Land / Air design baselines.
Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and you’ll be required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.
Preferred Experience
In-depth understanding of MOD (Land / Air) maintenance, equipment, and engineering processes.
Comprehensive knowledge of MOD, DEFSTAN / JSP standards.
Deep digital skills, with demonstrable experience in leading the delivery of technology services for enterprise class logistics / engineering services for the MOD.
Natural integrator of multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills covering colleagues, partners / vendors, and project sponsors.
Implementing / Product / Service owner of ERP and MRO systems.
Degree-level education preferred.
Self-starter with experience working in a matrix organization, capable of discussing ideas and concepts with staff at all levels.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, partners, vendors, and project sponsors
Experience in applying consultancy approaches and techniques.
Familiarity with a range of delivery methods, including waterfall, agile, and DevOps.
