Head of Pre-Trade Technology
As Head of Pre-Trade Technology, you will be passionate about delivering high quality, customer-focused solutions for the Equity Derivatives front office.
You will lead and inspire a high-performing, globally distributed engineering team, while staying hands-on with solution design and Kotlin development.
You will set the standard by leading from the front, bringing proven experience building, deploying and supporting large-scale EQD pre-trade platforms in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
- In This Role You Will
- Lead the pre-trade technology strategy and delivery for Equity Derivatives, building high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
- Manage and develop a high-performing, globally distributed engineering team, with a strong focus on mentoring and coaching.
- Stay hands-on with architecture and design, and contribute through Kotlin coding and code reviews where it adds most value.
- Drive transformation and modernisation across the pre-trade platform, improving scalability, resilience and time-to-market.
- Partner closely with senior front-office stakeholders, operating confidently in an agile, high-pressure environment.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a globally distributed engineering team across multiple regions, driving consistent delivery and strong engineering standards.
- Strong capability to partner with front-office and technology stakeholders, including Trading, Structuring, Quants and Product Owners, aligning priorities and translating needs into delivered outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience architecting complex front-office derivatives platforms, balancing scalability, resilience, time-to-market and operational supportability.
- Deep knowledge of equity derivatives workflows and controls, including pricing, trading, booking, risk monitoring, P&L and quant model integration.
- Advanced expertise in distributed systems architecture, including microservices and message-oriented/event-driven designs.
- Track record designing and delivering platforms with stringent performance, capacity and availability requirements (e. g., low-latency, high throughput, high availability).
- Strong understanding of the pre-trade lifecycle, including pricing and documentation generation workflows.
- Working knowledge of public cloud platforms such as GCP and/or AWS, including cloud-native patterns and operational considerations.
