Your Mission
Lead the KYC Operations Function organization to ensure compliance and provide instant service with best‑in‑class quality, while scaling operations efficiently in partnership with Wise Product, Compliance and other functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Area Leads and their functional areas to drive strategic direction and operational excellence.
- Set and execute strategic objectives, build high‑performing teams, and ensure operational and quality targets are met while overseeing roughly 75 employees across internal and outsourced locations.
- Ensure top‑notch delivery of quality, compliance, speed and cost of operations.
- Lead the design of the vision and strategy for the KYC Operations Function, aligned with the overall Servicing Strategy, to make processes more compliant, faster, better, scalable and customer‑focused.
- Build and develop a robust customer onboarding program; establish supporting systems such as metrics, targets, governance; use data and user research to optimize the onboarding experience and reinforce financial‑crime and regulatory compliance.
- Drive improvement initiatives, manage efficient processes, and provide continuous risk‑management and control.
- Collaborate closely with Risk and Compliance teams to align on risk appetites and capabilities supporting business growth.
- Ensure the right organisation and leadership are in place; build and develop people strategy covering skills, career paths, performance management; oversee team budgets and high‑level reporting.
Qualifications
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Extensive, typically 10 years, experience in Operations, preferably KYC/AML, financial crime, compliance or related fields in financial services.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, typically 8 years, in guiding and mentoring large teams toward inclusive high‑performance culture.
- In‑depth expertise and strategic understanding of the regulatory environment and evolving KYC/AML framework.
- Proficiency with advanced analytics tools such as Looker, Superset, or equivalent platforms for data‑driven decision making.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, thriving in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
- Expertise in multi‑tasking and maintaining accountability in complex, challenging scenarios.
