Join us as an AWS Developer, to help build and evolve our data platform that supports critical business and regulatory outcomes within our technology function. This role sits within a highly collaborative engineering team, where you’ll develop resilient, scalable solutions on AWS, contribute to modern data platforms, and influence how we design and deliver enterprise‑grade cloud services.
To be successful as an AWS Developer, you should have experience with:
- Hands‑on software development, with coding experience in Python, applying industry‑standard engineering practices to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions.
- AWS cloud development, with practical experience across services such as Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, IAM, Lake Formation, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, EC2, Security Groups, CloudFormation, RDS, DynamoDB and Redshift, including secure and well‑governed implementations.
- Data engineering and pipelines, building efficient batch and streaming solutions using Apache Spark and AWS services, and working with large‑scale datasets in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated technical problem‑solving capability, with the ability to rapidly understand systems, resolve production issues, and adapt to new technologies.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include:
- Enterprise development practices, including code versioning, build and CI/CD tooling (e.g. Maven, Jenkins), test‑driven development, and delivery of production‑ready solutions at scale.
- Data and streaming technologies, including working knowledge of JSON, Iceberg, Avro, and streaming platforms such as Kafka, MSK, Kinesis or Glue Streaming, alongside Big Data or Data Warehouse environments.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities:
- Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
