Account Governance Manager

The role is part of the Corporate Operations Governance team and focuses on strengthening risk management, governance, and control oversight across reconciliations and account substantiation processes. It involves reviewing, challenging, and reporting on the integrity, completeness, and effectiveness of reconciliations to mitigate financial misreporting risk, driving improvements and simplification of complex processes, acting as a subject‑matter expert, and leading a high‑performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Support various business areas with day‑to‑day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations in operational processes.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Create reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identify industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Proven people and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, lead, develop, and motivate high‑performing teams.
  • Strong experience in risk management, governance, or control assurance, particularly within financial operations regarding corporate operations and reconciliation.
  • Experience driving process improvement, including simplification, automation, or the use of AI to enhance efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of reconciliation, substantiation, and financial control frameworks, including associated risks.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, investigate anomalies, and resolve complex issues across teams.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with reconciliation and substantiation tools such as Intellimatch and INFoRM.
  • Knowledge of Account Ownership & Reconciliation Standards and associated governance processes.
  • Cross‑industry experience enforcing compliance to policies and standards.
  • Relevant industry qualifications in financial reporting, reconciliations, or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean).
  • An understanding of how the Account Governance team and processes fit into the end‑to‑end Account and Reconciliation framework.
