About The Role
- We’re hiring new financial crime investigators due to continued business growth.
- You’ll conduct important financial crime screening checks and investigations into new applicants and existing customers.
- You will use screening tools to match customer data against PEPs & Sanctions lists and use your initiative to determine the risks associated with the application/ customer.
- You will review customer profile information and transactional activity to identify financial crime risks, and take appropriate action on the account..
- You will submit internal Suspicious Activity Reports in instances where suspicious activity has been identified.
- As the business grows you may be required to take on additional tasks to support the Financial Crime Team.
- You’ll work in the office 3 days per week.
- You'll work 40 hours per week. This means you'll work Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, with a one hour lunch break.
- You'll also work one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), once every 4 weeks, and have two weekdays off in lieu.

- Identify opportunities for product and process improvement.
- How You’ll Impact Those Objectives
- You’ll support new application checks and existing customer monitoring.
- You’ll investigate potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and Sanctions matches, and assist with onboarding reviews.
- You’ll monitor activity and transactions on customer accounts.
- You will help mitigate risk by escalating Financial crime concerns that you have identified during your reviews.
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
- Have an analytical mindset with a good attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making skills, and excellent writing skills to document decisions.
- Can effectively communicate with customers, applicants and senior management, when necessary.
- Proficient time management skills, comfortable meeting targets and deadlines.
- Previous financial crime experience is advantageous, particularly around screening and KYC.
- Experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing solutions, including the use of automation and AI technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial crime prevention.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data, machine learning, and AI to develop and optimise strategies for fraud and financial crime detection and prevention.
