Leonardo in Edinburgh is looking for a Senior Commercial Officer to join the Commercial team reporting to the Contracts Manager. This role will support existing contracts and help build new relationships across the UK, US and worldwide markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, negotiate and administer complex contract terms and conditions, working with Procurement to flow down to subcontractors.
  • Draft and review agreements such as Non‑Disclosure Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.
  • Provide commercial support and administration to projects and/or contracts, including change control management, monitoring performance and managing commercial risk.
  • Support the project team to produce accurate and compliant customer pricing using appropriate pricing models.
  • Represent the Commercial function and Leonardo at customer and supplier meetings without supervision.
  • Prepare proposals for submission to customers, including internal documentation for bid approval.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial and business processes, obtaining required internal approvals in line with delegated authorities.
  • Execute complex assignments requiring cross‑functional collaboration without supervision.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers to deliver value to the company.
  • Work as an integral member of the Integrated Project Team to support the winning of new business and the management and delivery of current contracts.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience.
  • Understanding of basic business finance, profit and loss, margin and markup, escalation and foreign exchange.
  • Knowledge of export legislation, import taxes and duties.
  • Understanding of contract law and its application.
  • Ability to identify and understand commercial risks.
  • Ability to build relationships with cross‑functional colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Proactive, tenacious and results‑driven attitude.
  • Capacity to work unsupervised at times and with virtual project teams.
  • Willingness to learn and improve, including using the Corporate IACCM membership for self‑development.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of best practice and knowledge sharing within the function and across the wider business.
  • Familiarity with SAP and its functionality is desirable.

Security Clearance

This role requires UK Government baseline personnel security screening (BPSS). Additional national security vetting (NSV) may be required, including eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
