We are seeking a Commercial Analyst – Cards to deliver new business targets and manage end-to-end performance. In this data-driven role, you will analyse complex datasets, identify performance challenges, assess risks, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that drive improvements and overall product performance.
Location: Based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Responsibilities- Extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and develop robust decision models.
- Extract and prepare relevant data from internal and external sources.
- Perform sensitivity analysis, scenario planning and monitor existing models.
- Develop and implement data quality control procedures.
- Build and validate quantitative models to support decision-making across business areas.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across departments.
- Proficiency in analytical coding and data querying (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make actionable recommendations.
- Strong narrative skills – ability to translate data into clear, insightful stories that influence business outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to story-tell to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience working within the financial services industry.
- Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience supporting credit or lending products with exposure to commercial or product decision making.
