Data Test Analyst
This is a great opportunity to work as a Data Test Analyst in a dynamic data delivery with accountability for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data that is being delivered across platforms as part of the strategic delivery of our central Sage Data Platform. This role will collaborate with the wider Data and Development teams in the design and build of sustainable, pragmatic solutions aligned to the technology strategy. This is a hybrid role - three days per week in our Newcastle office.
In This Role You\\\'ll
- Plan, schedule and deliver high quality solutions across projects and systems.
- Design, create and review test artefacts that maximise the efficiency of the test phase, cover all requirements and allow for a timely delivery.
- Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of Data testing/reconciliation to all deliverables and continuously strive to improve existing methods.
- Carry-out data profiling and identify data integrity and quality challenges.
- Take accountability for own data test related activities within a test phase.
- Ensure appropriate test coverage to mitigate the identified risks.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement in your product and system knowledge.
- Accurately record and communicate issues found during test phases.
- Accurately record time spent on tasks.
- Keep up to date with relevant data testing tools / techniques.
- Seek out and act upon feedback from team members.
Must Have
- Experience of working in an Agile environment.
- Hands on and technical understanding of complex ETL and Data Warehousing terminology
- Strong SQL skills to reconcile source/target data and to validate business rules/requirements
- Competent with ETL testing and validating multiple source databases to target data warehouse tables
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to translate requirements into test scenarios
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with drive and ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work in a team, building strong relationships to maximise collaboration
- Attention to detail.
- Problem solving / self-starting nature - always providing solutions and options.
- Calm and methodical approach to conflicting situations.
