Job Description
We are seeking a growth-focused and banking-domain proficient Business Development Director (Hunter) to drive net new revenue growth and strategic expansion across Tier 1 and Tier 2 Banks.
This role owns quota-carrying responsibilities and will lead enterprise sales pursuits.
This role will be responsible for driving pipeline origination, building relationships with senior banking executives, leading go-to-market strategies and closing large at least (£5) multi-year deals across Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks.
This is a senior client facing role requiring deep understanding of UK Banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and emerging digital, data, and AI-led transformation opportunities across retail, commercial, and corporate banking domains; with a strong stakeholder network; and a proven track record of selling technology, consulting or managed services solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account & Pipeline Development
- Identify, qualify, and target Banking institutions across Retail, Commercial, and Corporate Banking.
- Develop and execute offerings as business outcomes aligned to Digital Banking, modernisation across app, infra and Data & AI and Cloud Transformation.
- Originate and progress large-scale transformation and managed services opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 UK Banks.
- GTM Execution & Solution Positioning
- Collaborate with solution architects and banking SMEs to shape tailored value propositions.
- Lead workshops, RFP responses, and client presentations focused on cloud migration, platform modernisation, Digital and Data & AI transformation.
- Position differentiated industry-led offerings in areas such as Payments, Lending, Risk & Regulatory and Core Banking.
- Executive Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Digital and CROs.
- Represent Version 1 at major UK Banking events, panels, and roundtables.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Track and analyse UK-specific banking developments.
- Identify whitespace opportunities driven by fintech disruption, vendor consolidation, and platform modernization.
- Internal Collaboration & Sales Enablement
- Work cross-functionally with data, cloud, AI, and enterprise application teams to drive integrated GTM campaigns.
- Enable vertical sales capability and support development of UK-focused industry collaterals.
- Ensure adherence to internal deal governance, pricing, legal, and risk approval processes.
Qualifications
- Strong progressive experience in Enterprise Sales, Business Development, or Account leadership within Banking and Financial Services.
- Demonstrated success selling Technology Services, Consulting, or Managed Services to UK Banks.
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a quota-carrying role.
- Experience closing multi-million-dollar, multi-year enterprise deals.
- Experience of having worked closely with Fintech Partners, Hyperscalers and Saa S platform vendors.
- Strong solution-led consultative selling skills; excellent communication, negotiation skills; strategic thinking with hands‑on execution experience.
