The Senior Employer Brand Specialist is responsible for shaping and amplifying how the organisation is perceived as a place to work. This role connects TA marketing and communications, translating the company's culture, values, and employee experience into compelling narratives that attract, engage, and convert the right talent. Recruitment marketing is the engine of this role: building always-on campaigns, managing candidate-facing channels, and driving measurable pipeline impact. This role is hybrid with 2-3 days in our Birmingham HQ.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the full recruitment marketing strategy, from awareness through to application, supporting the needs of the Talent Partners across all target talent segments and geographies.
- Design and manage multi-channel campaigns across available professional and social media channels including LinkedIn, Indeed, Insta, programmatic job advertising, etc., to drive qualified applicant flow.
- Build talent pipelines through targeted nurture campaigns, CRM sequencing, and retargeting, working closely with Talent Partners to align marketing activity to live roles and future hiring plans.
- Develop audience-first messaging frameworks for different candidate personas (e.g. early careers, engineers, commercial, leadership), ensuring content is tailored to their motivations, values, and channels.
- Manage recruitment marketing, optimising the channel content based on cost-per-applicant, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire data.
- Partner with Talent Partners to create job ad copy that converts, moving away from generic role descriptions toward content that reflects genuine culture and opportunity.
- Work with complementary functions to ensure our career site content and landing pages are optimised to improve candidate generation and conversion.
- Oversee job board and media partnerships, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to maximise reach and ROI.
- Lead campaign planning around high-volume hiring periods, new market entries, or hard-to-fill roles, building bespoke go-to-market approaches for each.
- Track, report, and act on recruitment marketing metrics including impression-to-click rates, apply rates, source-of-hire, and candidate quality by channel.
- Competitor intelligence analysis: carry regular audit/analysis for competitors’ employer brand activity, including initiatives, career page styling, etc.
- AI automation: wherever possible, leveraging AI across all aspects of the Employer Branding lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in employer brand, recruitment marketing, or talent acquisition marketing.
- Hands-on expertise running social and programmatic advertising campaigns, with the ability to set up, manage, and optimise campaigns directly.
- Strong copywriting ability, able to write compelling job ads, campaign copy, social content, and longer-form employer brand narratives.
- Experience developing or refreshing an EVP, including research, stakeholder engagement, and creative output involved.
- Proficiency with recruitment marketing platforms and applicant tracking systems.
- Data-literate: comfortable with campaign analytics, A/B testing, and making decisions based on performance data.
- Strong project management skills, able to run multiple campaigns and workstreams simultaneously.
