Embark on a transformative career journey as Business Intelligence (BI)/ User Interface (UI) Engineer (Info Lab) at Barclays, within the Global Treasury Coverage (GTC) team, where you will design, develop, and support enterprise grade business intelligence and Data Analytics solutions using Tableau and Power BI, enabling data driven decision making across IB.
The role requires strong expertise in data modelling, visualization, performance optimization, and governed analytics, operating within a regulated financial services environment.
Working closely with data engineering, product owners, business stakeholders, and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high quality dashboards and reports aligned with enterprise BI standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop / Tableau Cloud and Power BI Desktop / Service aligned to enterprise visualization standards.
- Translate complex business needs into clear analytical solutions using appropriate BI patterns.
- Develop semantic models and reusable datasets to support self‑service analytics.
- Implement calculated fields, parameters, filters, and DAX / Tableau calculations as required.
- Design and optimize star / snowflake schemas and multi‑fact models for analytical consumption.
- Partner with data engineering teams to source data from data warehouses, data lakes, and APIs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and efficient query performance.
- Apply governance, security like Row‑Level Security (RLS), and compliance standards across BI platforms.
- Publish, maintain, and maintain content on Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud and Power BI Service.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and promote best practices in data visualisation.
To be successful as a BI/UI Engineer (Info Lab), you should have
- Strong hands‑on experience with Tableau (Desktop, Server/Cloud) and Power BI (Desktop, Service).
- Solid understanding of data modelling and BI architecture concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
- Experience with Power BI DAX and Tableau calculations.
- Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (cloud or on prem).
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering roles.
- Experience delivering BI solutions in large, complex organizations (financial services preferred).
- Proven ability to work in regulated, governed data environments.
