The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers. \n Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Application Engineerto join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on delivering, maintaining, and improving platform and systems engineering solutions that underpin critical defence, government and public sector services. What you will do as a Senior Application Engineer \n \n \n Support, configure, and enhance security tooling platforms (e.g. n \n Ensure compliance with engineering governance, ITSM processes, and cyber security policies. \n Core areas (must have): \n \n \n Support, configuration, and enhancement of security tooling platforms (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management) \n \n Log and event management including ingestion, parsing, and correlation of system and security logs \n \n Integration of security tooling with platform, network, and identity services \n \n Operational support and tuning of security tooling in live environments \n \n Application lifecycle management (deployment, maintenance, upgrades, decommissioning) \n \n Integration patterns and identity management (e.g. SSO, RBAC, API integration) \n \n Secure-by-design principles and application security practices \n \n Technical problem solving and resolution of application-related issues \n \n Collaboration with engineering, SOC, and service management teams \n \n Experience working within security and ITIL-aligned environments \n \n Delivery within secure / enterprise / defence environments \n Desirable: \n \n \n Experience with SIEM / EDR / vulnerability management tools (e.g. Splunk, Trellix, Tenable, or similar) \n \n SOAR platforms and automation of security response workflows \n \n Integration with monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems \n \n Threat detection, analytics, and use case development \n \n Experience integrating with enterprise services (Active Directory, identity platforms) \n \n Exposure to DevOps / CI-CD practices \n \n Experience working in secure or regulated environments \n Security Clearance \n This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
