As an experienced Procurement Buyer, your role is to be responsible for executing the day-to-day procurement activities that support manufacturing operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of materials, components, and services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production continuity by managing supplier orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and resolving supply issues. Working closely with the Sourcing Specialist and cross-functional teams, the Buyer ensures that materials and outsourced assemblies are available to meet production plans, while maintaining quality, cost, and inventory targets in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and outsourced assemblies in line with production schedules
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgements, delivery dates, and shipment details
- Expedite or defer orders as needed to align with changing demand and production priorities
- Monitor supplier performance on delivery and responsiveness, and escalate issues when required
- Collaborate with planning, production, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy
- Support onboarding of new suppliers and contract manufacturers by setting up purchasing and transactional processes
- Track and resolve supply issues, including shortages, delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies
- Support cost control initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience purchasing direct materials or managing suppliers in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with outsourced assemblies or contract manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and international purchasing
