We're hiring for a Salesforce Developer to join our Sage People product engineering team in Winnersh. Sage People is a global HR & people management SaaS product built on the Salesforce (Force.com) platform, serving customers worldwide. As an ISV, we build and evolve one single product, with a strong focus on code quality, scalability and long-term architecture.
This is a hands-on engineering role β not Salesforce administration, not consulting, not bespoke customer development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality Salesforce solutions for a global SaaS product.
- Work with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, Salesforce Lightning / Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Participate in Scrum / SAFe ceremonies, quarterly planning and product releases.
- Contribute to a product roadmap that increasingly includes AI-driven capabilities.
Important: this role requires real, hands-on development on Salesforce β it is not a configuration or admin position.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with object-oriented programming, ideally Java or C#.
- Experience developing with Salesforce Lightning.
- Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL and JavaScript.
- Exposure to Salesforce REST APIs.
- Salesforce Developer Certification.
We welcome experienced Salesforce Developers, or backend developers (Java / C#) looking to specialise in Salesforce, with strong development fundamentals and a desire to learn.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary plus generous bonus scheme.
- Pension plan: up to 8% matched + 2% top-up by Sage.
- 25 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to 5 more.
- 8 bank holidays.
- 5 paid volunteer days per year via the Sage Foundation.
- Holiday buy & sell.
- Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage.
- Work Away scheme (up to 10 weeks per year).
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Hybrid working.
- Access to financial, health and wellbeing memberships.
We leverage the future of AI, meaning business owners spend less time doing routine tasks, like entering invoices and generating reports, and more time pursuing their ambitions.
