Your Impact: At Leonardo we have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Leader to join the Customer Service Support Solutions (CS3) Typhoon Export Support Team. Leonardo is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Based in Edinburgh but offering a custom/flexible working environment, combining both office and home working, you will work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment - delivering tailored in-service support solutions, ensuring operational availability and effectiveness for Radar fitted to the Typhoon aircraft platforms.
The support service projects encapsulate a number of international Customers, Partners and Suppliers making the role both challenging and technically demanding. You will be charged with defining, planning and coordinating activities and resources to deliver multiple support service projects on time, within budget scope and refine future support services and work packages:
- Assign and manage budgets;
- Define milestones;
- Monitor costs;
- Report on Project performance to management and customers;
- Maintain and manage a register of ongoing risks and opportunities.
The role needs interaction with a wide variety of personnel at various levels within the company as well as with customers and suppliers, thus strong and effective communication skills are vital. You will also work closely with other Project and Programme Managers for the business area to optimise and prioritise support needs and output.
Reporting to the RADAR Integrated Project Team (IPT) Lead, you will assist to co-ordinate day-to-day activities for the IPT and therefore must be a good team player possessing strong team building and motivational skills.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to:
- Plan, manage, monitor and report on assigned projects and IPT activities in accordance with a Lifecycle management process.
- Organise and coordinate internal Phase/Gate Reviews, Customer reviews and supplier reviews and manage all resultant actions to closure.
- Monitor and Control all activities and costs, defining and implementing corrective (or "recovery") actions required to tackle any deviations from the planned activities.
- Co-coordinate the activities of assigned projects by establishing appropriate communication mechanisms, encompassing both meetings and reporting requirements.
- Have financial acumen and regularly report metrics.
