The Director of Embedded Services is accountable for defining and driving the product strategy, growth and ecosystem leadership of embedded services across the platform. This role leads the Embedded Services product domain end to end, owning the vision, roadmap, commercial outcomes and partner ecosystem that enable embedded financial and operational services to scale across fintechs, platforms, marketplaces and developer partners. The Director will operate as a platform first product leader, ensuring embedded services are designed as reusable, API driven, AI enabled capabilities that integrate seamlessly into partner and customer workflows. They will work cross functionally to accelerate platform growth, drive product led acquisition and expansion and strengthen accountant and partner connectivity across the ecosystem. This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in our Newcastle office.
Key Accountabilities:
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define and own the embedded services product strategy, aligned to the broader AI native platform and long term growth ambitions. Set a clear north star and roadmap for embedded services, balancing near term commercial impact with long term platform scalability. Ensure all embedded services are built platform first, leveraging standardised APIs, headless capabilities and shared governance models. Champion an AI first mindset, embedding intelligent automation, agentic workflows and data driven decisioning into services by default.
- Commercial Growth & Outcomes: Be accountable for product led growth across embedded services, including customer volume, partner adoption, revenue and expansion. Translate strategy into clear commercial outcomes, with measurable impact on acquisition, activation and monetisation. Prioritise investment across services based on growth potential, ecosystem leverage and platform reuse. Own roadmap timelines and outcomes, ensuring delivery is aligned to growth commitments.
- Ecosystem, Partners & Developer Experience: Act as the senior product point of contact for strategic embedded services relationships, internally and externally. Lead product engagement with platform partners, fintechs, marketplaces and technology ecosystems, ensuring mutual value creation. Drive a world class developer experience, enabling scalable, self serve onboarding through APIs, documentation, tooling and support models. Ensure embedded services integrate cleanly into partner workflows while maintaining platform integrity, trust and compliance.
- Platform & Cross Functional Leadership: Lead and develop a high performing Embedded Services product organisation, setting clear direction, ownership and accountability. Work closely with platform, data, AI, compliance, commercial and engineering teams to ensure services fit coherently within the broader ecosystem. Bring a systems level understanding of how accounting, services, APIs, onboarding, data and AI capabilities work together. Navigate ambiguity confidently, making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining strategic alignment.
- Accounting & Professional Ecosystem Enablement: Ensure embedded services are designed with a deep understanding of accounting workflows, compliance needs and professional trust. Drive strong accountant connectivity across the embedded services ecosystem, enabling adoption, advocacy and scalable distribution. Balance innovation with regulatory, data and trust requirements critical to financial and accounting led services.
