The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers. \n What youwilldo as a Senior Network Engineer \n \n \n Design, configure, and support network virtualisation solutions (e.g. n \n \n \n Develop and review high- and low-level network designs and technical documentation. \n \n \n \n Integrate and test network components, ensuring compliance with performance and security requirements. \n \n \n \n Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical leadership to Network Engineers and Technicians. \n \n \n \n Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and customers to ensure solutions meet requirements. \n \n Whatyoullbring \n \n \n Strong experience in designing, configuring, and supporting network virtualisation platforms (e.g. n \n \n \n Confidence to take ownership of solutions and represent networking in technical discussions. \n \n Coreareas(must have): \n \n \n Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, QoS, VPNs, VLANs) \n \n \n \n Network virtualisation (NSX-T): design, configuration, and support of NSX-based networking environments \n \n \n \n Software-defined networking: implementation of logical switching, routing, and micro-segmentation \n \n \n \n Integration of NSX networking within virtualised and platform environments (e.g. VCF) \n \n \n \n Hands-on experience with Cisco or equivalent multi-vendor network equipment \n \n \n \n Network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, segmentation) \n \n \n \n Familiarity with virtualisation and cloud networking concepts \n \n \n \n Network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools \n \n \n \n Understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks \n \n \n \n Delivery within secure / enterprise / defence environments \n \n Desirable: \n \n \n VMware NSX-T deep expertise and certification (or equivalent experience) \n \n \n \n VCF networking integration (vSphere,vSAN, Aria Suite) \n \n \n \n Overlay / underlay network design concepts \n \n \n \n Automation of network configuration (Ansible, Terraform, APIs) \n \n \n \n Integration with security tooling (SIEM, SOC platforms) \n \n \n \n Cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid connectivity \n \n \n \n Experience working in secure or regulated environments \n \n This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. n Security Clearance \n This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Governments Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
