Using primarily the ABACUS computer simulation and Communication & Information Systems (CIS) you will support exercises by the British Army ranging from Battle Group to Corps level. The expanding nature of MOD training requires the evolution and integration of new and emerging systems to continuously enhance the training capability at CAST. \n Duties Include: \n Configure the ABACUS software for exercise use. \n Provide the MOD customer with ABACUS data for use during military exercises. \n Configuration and/or integration of individual systems to match military training requirements. \n Conduct appropriate system training to ensure the military Users are competent to conduct their exercises. \n Provide coverage, when required, to support CAST activities at relevant UK sites. \n Support the day to day and IT operations activities at the site. \n Carry out Engineering, Operational and Administrative duties associated with CAST site. \n Support remotely networked CIS Exercises at the Warminster, Sennelager and offsite locations. \n Support to the CAST activity at all sites, using primarily ABACUS/CIS/VBS3 \n Liaise with the military customer and build scenarios to fit their requirements. \n Establish consistent and measurable processes for the support & administration activity. \n Comply with configuration and control procedures. \n Attend further training when required. \n Comply with laid down company procedures. \n When required, be willing to work at night and do shift work. \n Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement'. \n Any other duties required to complete the CAST Service. \n Desirable experience \n Cisco routing, switching & VOIP \n Leadership of small teams \n Windows Server administration \n Fibre/Copper LAN installation & PC Repair \n Knowledge of DII, DIS & HLA \n A team player, also able to work unsupervised \n Knowledge of VBS3 and associated terrain generation \n Provision of Terrain Databases, Models and Scripting within a VBS environment \n Benefits: \n \n £: Competitive salary \n Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution) \n 6 times salary ‘Life Assurance' with pension \n 25 days holiday (increasing with service) + statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days (37hr) \n Car/Car allowance (dependant on grade/ role) \n Company bonus scheme (discretionary) \n Flexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work amongst others \n Enhanced sick pay \n Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave \n Private Medical Insurance – dependant on grade \n \n Work Culture \n \n 37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements. \n Early 1.30pm finish Friday, start your weekend early! \n Remote, hybrid and site based working opportunities, dependant on your needs and the requirements of the role. \n Up to 5 paid days volunteering each year. \n Flexible working culture focused on output, with more formal flexible working arrangements on request (assessed subject to role) - please highlight any requests to the Talent Acquisition team. \n \n RTX
