The Aladdin Data (AD) team is responsible for the firm's data ecosystem, ensuring data can be discovered, trusted, accessed, and used effectively across investment, operations, analytics, AI, and client solutions. \n Our mission is to build and operate the capabilities, governance, and workflows that enable data producers and consumers across BlackRock to efficiently share and leverage high-quality data at scale. \n AD supports four strategic outcomes that together advance BlackRock's data strategy: \n \n \n Deliver high-quality, trusted data products and services that power investment processes, operational workflows, and client solutions. \n \n Enable data producers to publish and distribute data through a scalable marketplace, making both Aladdin and BlackRock-generated content easily discoverable and consumable. \n \n Provide well-governed data that fuels AI, analytics, and emerging digital capabilities across the firm. \n \n Offer common standards, tooling, governance, and reusable services that allow teams to focus on creating business value rather than building bespoke data infrastructure. \n \n The team builds common standards, governance, tooling and reusable services that help data producers publish high-quality data and help consumers find, trust and use it without building bespoke infrastructure. \n About this role \n We are building a new organization within Aladdin Data: the BlackRock Data Office , focused on enabling trusted, reusable and AI-ready data across Technology & Operations. \n The BlackRock Data Office will serve as the central team responsible for accelerating how data is onboarded, governed, managed and consumed through the firm's Data Marketplace. Working with domain teams, engineers, product teams and business stakeholders, the team will establish scalable stewardship, governance and data product practices that allow data to be managed as a strategic enterprise asset. \n We are seeking a Director, Data Stewardship to play a critical leadership role in establishing and scaling data stewardship across Technology & Operations. \n This individual will be responsible for driving data ownership, governance, quality and accountability across strategic data domains, ensuring that data is trusted, discoverable, reusable and fit for operational, analytical and AI-driven use cases. \n Core Responsibilities \n \n \n Act as the senior Data Steward for one or more strategic Technology & Operations data domains. \n \n Partner with business, product and engineering leaders to establish data ownership, accountability and governance standards. \n \n Drive adoption of data governance, metadata, lineage, quality and data product standards across multiple organizations. \n \n Champion the onboarding, governance and lifecycle management of data products within the Data Marketplace. \n \n Define, monitor and report on data quality metrics, controls and remediation activities. \n \n Lead prioritization and resolution of critical data risks, quality issues and control gaps. \n \n Establish governance forums, stewardship processes and operating models that scale across Technology & Operations. \n \n Influence senior stakeholders and domain leaders to improve data accountability and drive organizational change. \n \n Mentor and guide a federated community of data stewards, data product owners and domain experts. \n \n Support the delivery of trusted, well-governed and AI-ready data products that can be reused across the firm. \n \n Represent Technology & Operations data interests within enterprise governance, regulatory and data strategy initiatives. \n \n Help shape the long-term vision and operating model of the BlackRock Data Office. \n \n Required Experience \n \n \n Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Data Management, Business or a related discipline. \n \n 12+ years of experience in Data Stewardship, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy or related disciplines. \n \n Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale data governance and stewardship programs. \n \n Experience driving data ownership, accountability and governance across large, matrixed organizations. \n \n Experience with enterprise data catalogs, metadata management and lineage platforms (e.g., DataHub, Collibra, Informatica, EDC or similar). \n \n Strong knowledge of database technologies, data warehousing, cloud data platforms, and modern data architectures, including experience with platforms such as Snowflake and equivalent enterprise data ecosystems. \n \n Serve as the accountable steward for the governance, quality, discoverability and AI-readiness of assigned data domai
