Salary £67,000 to £80,000. Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market.

Your Impact: We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Project Manager on a large, world class Surveillance radar programme. This Lead Project Manager will be the lead for a significant Integrated Project Team (IPT), providing leadership for the production and ongoing development for a complex radar product. Based on site in Edinburgh c. 3 days a week, you will work with a team comprised of a multi-site cross-functional skillset of engineers and other professionals from across the business and provide leadership and mentorship to 6 other Project Managers in the product area (three direct reports).

The Lead Project Manager will develop a strategic view of the Products they are responsible for, balancing requirements and priorities to deliver the business and customer commitments. There are collaborative relationships with the customer base, with regular interactions which the Lead Project Manager will take an active and leading role within. You will report directly to the Programme Manager on the Surveillance Radar Product activities.

You will lead the IPT in the successful delivery of a compliant project in line with the Customer, Contractual and Legislative requirements. This is achieved through effective planning and management of team performance and project schedule and cost. In addition, this role will require a systematic approach to maximize value creation within the commercial constraints. You will ensure effective communications to proactively encourage project delivery across all functional business areas to achieve cost, quality and schedule within budget.

You will proactively monitor project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action. You will identify and manage risks to the production project, including the development of contingency plans. You will input into business winning activities, working with the Business Winning IPT. You will conduct project reviews and make recommendations to appropriate business areas. You will be involved in daily interactions with key members of the IPT. You will be on Edinburgh site c.3 days per week, with international travel of up to 1 trip per month.

What you'll bring: You will typically be degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline or an equivalent suitable level of work experience. You will have Project Management experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders. You will be enthusiastic and well organised. You will have the ability to embrace and work to tight timescales/deadlines. You will be a team player and have the natural ability to support others and seek support. You will possess effective and flexible communication, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills. Strong stakeholder management. A pro-active approach with a 'can do' attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency. A working knowledge of SAP and Primevera P6. APM / PMP qualification (or working towards a qualification).

An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
