Job Description Job Description: \n Salary Range: \n Senior Systems Engineer £44,500 - £56,000 \n Principal Systems Engineer £53,500 - £68,000 \n Where this vacancy is being recruited across more than one grade, the successful candidate will be appointed to a specific assessed grade, and the applicable salary range will be that associated with the grade of appointment. \n Your Impact \n As a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer within the MIMAS Transition Phase Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining the requirements that shape future Electro-Optic (EO) systems. Your work will ensure that stakeholder needs are accurately analysed and translated into high-quality system and subsystem requirements that provide a robust foundation for system design, integration, verification and validation. \n By establishing a structured and traceable requirements baseline, you will help ensure that engineering decisions are based on clear needs and that solutions can be delivered with confidence throughout the system lifecycle. \n Develop and maintain EO system and subsystem requirements and requirements sets throughout the engineering lifecycle. \n Use requirements management tools, such as DOORS, to maintain requirements baselines, traceability, and change control. \n Support interface definition and management activities, ensuring interfaces are clearly specified and traceable. \n Support verification and validation (V&V) planning and activities through the development of clear, testable requirements. \n Communicate recommendations, progress, dependencies, and risks effectively to stakeholders. \n Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure requirements remain aligned with system design and programme needs. \n Scope, define and plan requirements activities and documentation where required, including Requirements Management Plans and associated governance artefacts. \n \n What You'll Bring \n \n Experience in requirements management and requirements engineering within a complex engineering environment. \n A strong understanding of good requirements practice, including quality, traceability, verification, and change management. \n Experience using requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent. \n \n What else would help \n \n Experience leading or coordinating requirements activities across multidisciplinary teams. \n Experience scoping and defining requirements work, such as producing Requirements Management Plans or similar governance documentation. \n Broader systems engineering experience across the engineering lifecycle. \n Security Clearance \n This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
