Job Description: Salary Range: Senior Systems Engineer £44,500 - £56,000 Principal Systems Engineer £53,500 - £68,000 Where this vacancy is being recruited across more than one grade, the successful candidate will be appointed to a specific assessed grade, and the applicable salary range will be that associated with the grade of appointment. Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity. Your Impact As a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer within the MIMAS Transition Phase Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining the requirements that shape future Electro-Optic (EO) systems. Your work will ensure that stakeholder needs are accurately analysed and translated into high-quality system and subsystem requirements that provide a robust foundation for system design, integration, verification and validation. By establishing a structured and traceable requirements baseline, you will help ensure that engineering decisions are based on clear needs and that solutions can be delivered with confidence throughout the system lifecycle. What You'll Do Analyse and manage stakeholder requirements, ensuring they are clearly understood, traceable and aligned to programme objectives. Develop and maintain EO system and subsystem requirements and requirements sets throughout the engineering lifecycle. Use requirements management tools, such as DOORS, to maintain requirements baselines, traceability, and change control. Support the development of functional architectures and ensure requirements are appropriately allocated to system elements.
