hackajob is partnering directly with Sage to hire for this role. Level 4 Apprenticeship | Newcastle Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office.

At Sage, innovation starts with our people. With over 13,000 colleagues across 40 locations worldwide and more than 2 million customers, we are united by a shared purpose: to transform the way millions of businesses work. As a global leader in AI, finance and HR software, we harness cutting-edge technology to simplify complexity and drive progress.

We are now looking for curious, data-minded apprentices to join our Product Strategy and Operations team, people who enjoy working with data, digital tools and AI, and want to build practical experience in a fast-moving product organisation, while earning a recognised Level 4 qualification at the same time.

Why join Sage as an Apprentice?

This isn’t a passive learning programme. From day one, you will work on real challenges alongside experienced colleagues, with structured development, mentoring, and hands-on delivery.

What you’ll be involved in:

  • Explore data to spot trends, risks and opportunities, and build confidence using data to ask good questions and recommend improvements.
  • Help create and update dashboards, reports and data views, and learn how to explain data clearly so others can use it to make decisions.
  • Support improvements to data quality and consistency across the product organisation.
  • Learn how AI, automation and digital tools can make reporting, analysis and everyday work easier, and how to use them responsibly, accurately and with good judgement.
  • Help teams plan, track and deliver product initiatives using tools such as Power BI, Excel, SharePoint and other product operations platforms.
  • Work with stakeholders across Product, Operations and beyond to understand what information they need, sharing useful data, reporting and operational insight.

What we are looking for:

We welcome applications from people who are at the start of their career and ready to learn. You don’t need a degree or prior experience in data or analytics. What matters most is your curiosity about data, your interest in how technology helps businesses make better decisions, and a genuine drive to keep learning.

To meet the entry requirements for the Level 4 apprenticeship, you will need:

  • Five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and Maths.
  • Plus one of the following: an A-level, a Level 3 Apprenticeship or vocational qualification, ideally in Maths, IT, Computer Science, Business Studies, or a related subject.

Beyond that, you will stand out if you:

  • Enjoy working with information, spotting patterns and asking questions.
  • Are willing to learn tools such as Excel, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Are interested in AI and automation, and how they can be used responsibly.
  • Can explain information clearly in writing and conversation.
  • Are organised, careful and comfortable paying attention to detail.
  • Are keen to learn, ask for help and build confidence, using feedback to keep improving.
  • Can manage your time and balance work with apprenticeship learning.
  • Have some experience using data, spreadsheets, dashboards or AI tools, through study, work experience or personal projects, though this isn’t essential.

Your Level 4 Apprenticeship:

Alongside your day-to-day role, you will study towards the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship standard. The programme is designed to give you both the technical grounding in data analysis and the commercial awareness to turn information into insight that drives real business decisions. By the time you complete the programme, you will have a strong foundation in data analysis, reporting and responsible use of AI and automation, giving you the skills and professional credibility to build a career in data and analytics.

Working at Sage you will also benefit from:

  • Five paid volunteering days each year through Sage Foundation.
  • Access to learning platforms, expert-led sessions and a global professional network.
  • A clear career pathway with opportunities to grow once your apprenticeship is complete.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, competitive pension and more.

What to expect from the process:

  • Apply online with your CV.
  • If eligible, you will be invited to complete a video interview.
  • If successful, you will be invited to a final stage assessment.
  • Successful candidates will join us in October 2026.

We are committed to an inclusive process for everyone. If you need any adjustments at any stage, please get in touch.
