Job Description
Our IT Managed Services business enables customers to innovate, transform, and capitalise on new opportunities.
The Professional Services function delivers structured, outcome driven technical engagements that help customers design, implement, and optimise Azure cloud platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient solutions aligned to their business objectives.
The Azure Solution Consultant is a senior, customer facing role responsible for designing, assuring, and delivering Microsoft Azure solutions that align to customer outcomes, best practice, and long term operational supportability.
This role works closely with pre sales, delivery consultants, and operational teams, acting as a trusted technical authority and escalation point for customers.
- Act as a trusted Azure technical advisor to customers, providing architectural leadership across design, delivery, and operational transition.
- Support pre sales engagements, contributing to solution architecture, technical assurance, and scoping of Azure opportunities.
- Work with customers from initial concept and business case, through detailed architecture, delivery, and handover into managed service operations.
- Design secure, scalable, and cost optimised Azure architectures aligned to best practice, operational standards, and the customer's IT strategy.
- Lead and support the migration of customer Iaa S environments to Microsoft Azure.
- Oversee and contribute to the deployment of Azure solutions, working closely with delivery and operational teams.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure cloud environments are supportable, resilient, and well documented.
- Act as an escalation resource for complex Azure incidents and architectural challenges.
- Champion cloud governance, security, and cost optimisation, providing pragmatic guidance to customers.
- Produce clear, structured technical design documentation and support service handover activities.
- Act as an ambassador for the business, building trust and long term customer relationships.
- Proven experience (ideally 2+ years) designing and delivering Azure solutions in consultancy, managed service, or enterprise environments.
- Strong hands on experience with Microsoft Azure Iaa S and core platform services.
- Experience migrating workloads into Azure using structured, low risk approaches.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security principles.
- Experience designing solutions aligned to operational support models.
- Working knowledge of Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong customer facing communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Commercial awareness, including Azure cost management and optimisation considerations.
- A proactive, detail oriented, and collaborative approach.
- Ability to take ownership of opportunities and lead technical outcomes.
- Technical experience (experience in at least 3 of the following)
- Cloud migrations
- Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform)
- Azure networking
- Azure identity and access management
- Azure Virtual Desktop
- Cloud native architecture (containers, serverless, managed services)
- Azure monitoring, logging, and operational tooling
- AI & Modern Cloud Capabilities
- Working knowledge of Azure AI services and how they can be applied to customer solutions.
- Ability to advise customers on practical AI use cases, risks, and governance considerations.
- Understanding of how AI capabilities integrate into cloud native and Dev Ops led architectures.
- Experience using AI assisted tools responsibly to improve solution design, documentation, or operational efficiency.
