Core Mission
Hack The Box is on a mission to redefine cybersecurity readiness for the AI era — and data is the engine room of that mission. As Director of Data & Analytics, you will own the execution of HTB's data platform and analytics strategy: a GCP‑native ecosystem (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Bigtable, legacy Aiven Kafka / ClickHouse, Snowflake) serving analytics, ML, and AI workloads across every product line, from Academy and Labs to Enterprise and AI Range.

Responsibilities

  • Own execution of data platform and analytics strategy.
  • Operational command of a 10–12 person team across data engineering, analytics engineering, and BI.
  • Drive Snowflake‑to‑BigQuery consolidation to completion.
  • Establish delivery rhythms, SLOs, and quality gates for platform reliability.
  • Scale function: company‑wide data governance and data contracts.
  • Implement self‑serve analytics adopted by all departments.
  • Build data platform that powers HTB's AI products.
  • Report directly to the VP of Data, Analytics & AI and work with AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Software Development, Infrastructure Product Management, Finance, Growth/Marketing, and executive team.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Manage GCP‑native stack: BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Bigtable, Vertex AI Feature Store.
  • Leverage Apache Flink/Spark for processing.
  • Orchestrate pipelines with Airflow and layer BigQuery modeling.
  • Implement data governance: contracts, CI/CD quality gates.
  • Drive consolidation onto GCP architecture, completing migration from legacy warehouses and CDC pipelines.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years in data engineering/analytics, including 4+ years managing teams of 8+ people in a product or SaaS company.
  • Proven delivery of a modern cloud data platform, ideally GCP (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow); experience with other cloud warehouses acceptable.
  • Hands‑on fluency with streaming architectures: Kafka or Pub/Sub, schema management, and data contracts.
  • Experience establishing data governance and quality practice: compatibility policies, CI gates, lineage, documentation.
  • Strong analytics leadership: building metrics layers, BI adoption, experimentation practices.
  • Executive‑grade communication skills.
  • Bonus: exposure to ML/AI data infrastructure, cybersecurity or gaming/community products, ClickHouse/Druid.

Benefits

  • Private health care.
  • Paid parental leave (4 weeks).
  • 25 annual leave days.
  • Free lunch & snack at the office.
  • €120 Ticket Restaurant by Edenred.
  • Dedicated budget for training and professional development, conference participation.
  • Full access to Hack The Box lab offerings.
  • State‑of‑the‑art equipment (Mac, iPhone, mobile plan).
  • Flexible WFH/HYBRID model; fully remote if not within 55 km of Athens.
  • Annual childcare allowance.
  • On‑site gym and group activities.

Relocation

  • 10% relocation bonus on annual salary.
  • 50% tax reduction on income as part of relocation.
  • Support with accommodation during first few weeks.
