Salary: The salary range for this role is £44,000 - £51,700 depending on experience.

Location: The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP, on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Take a leading editorial role shaping digital academic products across Bloomsbury’s Visual Arts and Screen Studies hubs. This is an exciting opportunity to join Bloomsbury’s thriving Digital Resources Division in an editorial role focussed on key platforms within the Visual Arts, Video and Culture portfolio.

In addition to working closely with the wider academic and digital team to see pipeline projects through to fruition, the role requires forming and managing key external partnerships and offers the opportunity to commission new digital products for the academic market. This role reports to the Digital Portfolio Director for Visual arts, Video and Culture and falls within the Digital Editorial team.

  • Digital Editorial lead for Bloomsbury Visual Arts and Screen Studies hubs, responsible for liaising with colleagues on pricing, scheduling and third‑party content for pipeline and future products.
  • Main contact for external licensing partners regarding contracts, schedules, deliverables.
  • Lead role on archive and other projects from conception to handover and involvement at all stages throughout the product life cycle.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Academic editorial and/or digital publishing experience essential (whether acquisitions, development, editorial management or similar).
  • Experience of pitching to third parties, delivering on collective or individual revenue goals and working collaboratively with teams across functions.
  • Experience of working with external stakeholders, ideally archives or other major licensing partners.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, negotiation and organisational skills alongside strong commercial nous.

Additional information

The role is a full‑time, temporary 12-month fixed‑term contract.
