Help bring live cultural events to audiences nationwide through hands-on coordination of venues, tours and scheduling. Fane specialises in producing and curating spoken word events, bringing the most exciting names in culture and entertainment to audiences around the world. The Programming Assistant will support the delivery of Fane’s UK-wide tours and one-off live events by assisting with venue bookings, scheduling, tour coordination, and maintaining accurate programming information. The role works closely with the Programming Manager, Programming Coordinator, and Producing team to ensure the smooth planning and execution of events across the Fane Live programme.

The Programming Assistant will support venue coordination, tour scheduling, and live event delivery across Fane’s UK-wide programming team. You will manage venue availability, maintain booking data, and work closely with producers and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of live tours and events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Liaising with venues regarding availability and bookings
  • Uploading and tracking venue availability and booking statuses
  • Maintaining and updating venue databases and internal systems
  • Coordinating tour on-sales and ensuring accurate scheduling information
  • Updating internal on-sale calendars
  • Supporting producers with tour routing and venue selection
  • Assisting with the smooth delivery of live events and tours

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with venues and external partners
  • Ensure programming and booking information is accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate internal and external communications relating to tour on-sales
  • Support the Live team with administrative and operational tasks
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure successful event delivery
  • Assist with strategic programming decisions by providing accurate venue and scheduling information

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Previous administrative or coordination experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • Experience or understanding of the live events, entertainment, publishing, or creative industries would be advantageous but is not essential
