Location: This position requires onsite in‑person working at Sadler’s Wells East, and Sadler’s Wells in Angel, Islington for events such as Breakin’ Convention Festival.
Position Overview: Academy Breakin’ Convention (ABC) is seeking an experienced Performing Arts Facilitator with a Hip Hop Specialism to join our pioneering Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner in an educational setting who is passionate about mentoring young people and sharing their knowledge of hip hop culture, history, and artistic practice. You will share your love and knowledge of hip hop culture across dance, music and visual art and recent experience of the creative industries. Responsibilities and Qualifications: The Performing Arts Facilitator (Hip Hop Specialism) should have a proven track record of working within the creative industries and with young people aged 16–24. Working alongside the Head of the Academy, the Course Leader, and the wider teaching team, the Performing Arts Facilitator will support learners in successfully completing the UAL Level 3 qualification through the co‑creation and delivery of engaging lessons that prepare the next generation of leaders for careers in the creative industries. They will also be part of a learner‑centred team where pastoral care, wellbeing and student support are at the forefront of practice.
Additional Responsibilities and Scope: We’re particularly keen on working with creatives who have an interest in addressing the barriers around accessing the arts and how we may create theatre and events which have inclusion, community and equity at its core. You will work in a dynamic and creative environment, where you can make a positive impact on the lives and careers of emerging talent.
