What you\’ll be doing

Supporting a team of ten ambitious trade marketers, you’ll play a vital role in all of John Murray Group’s publishing by ensuring that administrative activities are managed accurately, efficiently, and professionally. You’ll learn how to support a thriving team, delivering on key requirements of the role including:

  • Providing administrative support for the team, including managing the marketing email inbox, organising meetings, minute taking, updating data in our systems and raising POs/invoices.
  • Co-ordinating the design, production and distribution of marketing materials, in print and digital formats
  • Honing your skills to pitching for coverage in trade media such as The Bookseller
  • Researching and collating information for internal and external presentations
  • Assisting in organising key marketing events and attending where needed
  • Contributing creatively to the development of digital marketing, e.g. communities, blogs, social media channels, newsletters etc.
  • Attending training and then using relevant systems to run datasets for the marketing team
  • Supporting the team on campaign tasks including influencer research, bookseller outreach and mailings

Who we are looking for

A successful candidate will be efficient and accurate within an admin role with a proactive and positive approach. You’ll be extremely organised and reliable, able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and unafraid to ask questions in the spirit of learning how best to support the team. Strong written and spoken communication skills are essential as you’ll be interacting with colleagues from all departments, as well as external stakeholders such as authors. We’d love to hear from you if you enjoy working collaboratively as a part of a team and are also able to use your own initiative and prioritise when completing independent tasks.

This is an entry-level role and previous publishing experience is not required, but candidates should have proven experience of organisation and admin in a busy environment.

This role can be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
