Help represent and support booksellers across the sector in a fast-paced marketing role combining data, delivery and relationship-building. The Booksellers Association is a membership organisation for all booksellers in the UK & Ireland, representing over 95% of bookshops. The Booksellers Association exists to support, advise and work with its members to create excellent products and services for booksellers.

Our Mission Statement: Representing bookselling operations of all types and sizes within the sector, the Booksellers Association works for its members through the provision of goods and services, through representation, advocacy, networking and education, and through the promotion to consumers of bookshops and bookselling.

We’re looking for a highly organised, people-friendly Trade Marketing Executive to join the Marketing team at National Book Tokens and Record Tokens. This is a practical, delivery-focused role with lots of responsibility - great for someone in admin / customer service / comms / trade marketing who enjoys getting things done, working with different audiences, and using data to improve outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering trade communications and mailings to booksellers (UK & Ireland)
  • Creating and improving POS materials (briefing designers, ordering/stock, suppliers)
  • Promoting, monitoring and engaging users with our email marketing tool for booksellers
  • Using Excel + data to track performance, produce clear reports, and support decision-making
  • Handling queries with a professional, customer-first approach
  • Supporting a range of industry initiatives and team projects

Who we are looking for:

  • A self-starter who enjoys an office environment and building relationships
  • Someone confident with Excel basics (e.g. sorting/filtering, formatting, simple formulas; pivot tables a bonus)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and kindly
  • Someone organised, accurate and comfortable working at pace

This role requires at least 3 days per week in the office to manage physical trade activity (mailings, POS, stock) and to collaborate closely with the team. Please apply only if this is realistic for you.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you don’t meet every requirement but feel excited by the role, we’d still love to hear from you. We’re happy to discuss reasonable adjustments at any stage of the process. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in the creative industries.
