Location: London

Take ownership of reporting and analytics, helping maximise revenue across Channel 4’s portfolio. Channel 4 creates innovative and alternative content which is distributed for free and admired globally. The Sales Operations team is responsible for the creation and delivery of maximum revenue across all delivery methods of viewing across C4’s Sales portfolio. The team is required to deliver exceptional levels of service to Sales and our customers, in addition to conceiving and executing innovative methods of creating value through systems, working practices and new trading opportunities.

The Inventory & Analysis team is specifically responsible for business modelling and detailed reporting across both VoD and Linear inventory at Channel 4 Sales, leading the strategy for inventory product mix to maximise and increase yields across the C4 portfolio. The monitoring and proactive control of the on-going delivery of agency deals, from both a cost and quality perspective, is essential to maximising revenue for Channel 4 and maintaining constructive relationships with agencies and advertisers.

The role requires a Power BI specialist to build and maintain a suite of reporting requirements within Power Platforms, namely Power BI dashboards. This will involve the end-to-end analytics process from gathering requirements, working closely with our business intelligence team to deliver robust data models, report design and development through to training and management of enhancement requests. This also includes understanding our data offering through to implementation, change management and maintenance of the reporting solutions going forward.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the Inventory & Yield Manager to create and maintain our suite of business models and reporting dashboards used for the management of C4 inventory and deal delivery management.
  • Be the go-to point of contact within the I&A team regarding Power BI reporting in terms of design, build, implementation and training.
  • Using latest visualisation and interactive software to present the data clearly and impactfully.
  • Always looking to evolve reporting, audit existing ones and create new ways to make reporting more relevant and useful for all.
  • Communicate latest reporting developments to wider stakeholders, escalating issues to I&Y Manager and reporting stakeholders to ensure analysis is accurate and consistent.
  • Train and empower other members of the team to contribute to projects defined by the I&Y Manager including best practice techniques to ensure a consistent approach to reporting and user experience.
  • Cultivate a psychologically safe environment for people to learn, develop new tools and improve ways of reporting and consuming data analytics at 4Sales.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Power platform experience especially in Power BI, Power Apps, Flow and Forms.
  • Understanding of change management principles and their role in product development.
  • Good communication skills both written, verbal and presenting to groups.
  • Experience of working in TV or VoD Advertising, demonstrating an understanding of the reporting needs of a Commercial Sales team.
  • Cultivates a positive working environment by being a helpful and considerate team member who always supports their colleagues.
  • Curious and comfortable with adapting as projects evolve and work to deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to think outside the box for new ways of doing things, making suggestions and contributing to ideas and planning.
  • Positive attitude and relishes the opportunity to expand the breadth of their skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, understanding their needs and roles in a project and how to engage accordingly.
  • Exceptionally well organised, responsive and delivery focused. Open and willing to learn from mistakes.

Desirable:

  • Advanced Power Platform experience, specifically Power Apps.
  • Thorough experience of TV and VoD advertising trading, selling and booking end to end process.
  • Understanding of functions on Stellar or similar Airtime Sales systems.
  • API technical knowledge and application.
