What is BBC Creative U?
It’s your FREE 12-week online masterclass from the BBC's in-house award winning advertising agency, BBC Creative. We’re passionate about building a diverse creative industry, and that’s where you come in!
What will you get?
- Masterclasses with industry pros: Learn everything including idea generation, strategy, copywriting and art direction.
- A dedicated mentor during AND after the scheme: Someone to guide you and answer all your questions.
- The chance to create something amazing for your portfolio: From the brief, through to creation – you’ll have our guidance!
- Valuable connections: Meet industry experts and fellow aspiring creatives.
This is perfect for you if:
- You’re 18+ and bursting with creative ideas (no experience needed!)
- You’re from a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background
- Are available virtually from 4-6pm every Tuesday from the 14th April 2026
- You want to learn from the best and get your foot in the industry door
Interested? We want to see your creativity shine, please complete 3 of the 4 challenges below (Question 1 is mandatory – you can choose the other two yourself!). You can answer these in any format you’d like and don’t worry, you don’t need fancy equipment or to be an expert, just be you.
- Make a TikTok promoting yourself as person of the month (mandatory)
- Rebrand your FAVOURITE celebrity into a drinks brand
- Convince UK teens that asparagus is a better alternative to vapes
- Write a scathing 1 * review of one of your group chats

Please note, this masterclass is unpaid and online.
To be eligible for this scheme you must:
- Be aged 18+ by the start of the scheme on 14th April 2026 and have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the scheme.
- Be bursting with creative ideas. There is no requirement for previous experience of working in this area.
- Be from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background.
- Be available virtually from 4-6pm every Tuesday from 14th April 2026 to attend the masterclass sessions.
