An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Content Designer to join the Hachette Learning Product Design team. You will be a vital part of a small and friendly team working across all creative aspects of our educational and professional development products, handling the creative process from initial brief to final files.

You will need to ensure that all work is delivered to the highest standard, on schedule and within budget. You’ll be working closely with other departments, developing great working relationships and demonstrating strong skills in conveying ideas and effectively interpreting feedback.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating design solutions for products that are highly creative, ambitious, innovative, thoughtful and market aware
  • Managing design work through the approval process as required
  • Supply of technically sound files ready for production and/or to print or digital output
  • Managing multiple projects keeping on top of company priorities and adjusting task lists as needed
  • Checking files from external suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Preparing final files for press and archiving
  • Monitoring costs and schedules
Who we are looking for:
  • Proven design experience, preferably in the educational, professional development or non-fiction trade publishing sector
  • Well-organised with an eye for detail
  • Teamwork skills, adaptability and a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of the publishing process and excellent Adobe CC skills
  • Experience in working with freelance designers and artists
  • Knowledge of XML-first workflow and experience of Figma/FigJam skills are desirable but not necessary

This role will be based at our London office, with a blend of 3 in-office days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) and homeworking for the remaining 2 days per week.
