About Us
People come to work for Habinteg because they believe in what matters to us. Inclusion drives all that we do, be that the services we offer to tenants, the environments we create or the homes we deliver. One in four people in this country are disabled but most homes are designed to exclude them. We believe in designing homes and creating neighbourhoods that everyone can share and enjoy. We have approximately 3200 homes across the country from Tyneside to Cornwall. We are champions of the Lifetime Homes Standard and provide expert training and consultancy through our Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) in-house team.
About the Role
We’re looking for a new Policy and Public Affairs Officer to help drive our campaigns forward. This is an exciting, part-time role where you will make a real impact on the lives of disabled and older people. You’ll be building and maintaining relationships with parliamentarians and growing our list of supporters in the House of Commons and House of Lord. You’ll also have the chance to explore and develop new insights to influence national and local government policy so that more accessible homes are built.
About You
You’ll need to be a self-starter, organised and tenacious and a great team player. You’ll also be able to turn data and complex information into a compelling case for accessible homes, and tailor it for a parliamentary audience, from back benchers to ministers. We’d like you to have some previous experience of policy campaigning and prior knowledge of disabled people’s rights or housing policy would be great.
We’re a small, family-friendly team dedicated to making a lasting difference to the UK supply of accessible housing. This is an opportunity to play a central part in Habinteg’s campaign for lasting change in the national housing market.
Finally, make sure to read all about us. If you’re looking to work as part of a friendly team that makes a difference to society, we might just be the place for you.
