About Us
People come to work for Habinteg because they believe in what matters to us. Inclusion drives all that we do, be that the services we offer to tenants, the environments we create or the homes we deliver. One in four people in this country are disabled but most homes are designed to exclude them. We believe in designing homes and creating neighbourhoods that everyone can share and enjoy. We have 3200 homes across the country from Tyneside to Cornwall. We provide expert training and consultancy through our Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) in-house team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering housing services to our tenants in the Cornwall area at our properties including Pool, Camborne, Roche, Liskeard. This is a generic and rewarding housing management role - and a challenging one. You will be letting properties, carrying out scheme inspections, including key health and safety checks, helping tenants to keep up to date with their rent, and liaising with social services and occupational health services to ensure tenants can successfully maintain their tenancy and live independently. You will also be dealing with tenancy issues, including managing reports of anti-social behaviour. You will be working as part of a small team managed by the Neighbourhood Manager and will be expected to achieve stretching and ambitious targets. Tenant engagement is key to Habinteg’s success, and you will work closely with tenant representatives and tenant groups. This role is based on-site, and candidates should be comfortable working and travelling from the sites this role covers. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
About You
You will be committed and enthusiastic, approachable and able to work confidently on your own initiative, thriving on the challenges of working independently and the responsibility and rewards that brings. You will enjoy building relationships with tenants and partners, while remaining adaptable to changing priorities and service needs. Ideally, you’ll have some experience and knowledge of housing management in the social housing sector and will be committed to Habinteg’s inclusive housing mission. Computer literacy is needed, as are sound written and verbal communication skills. You will be flexible and agile in your approach, being able to adapt your approach to different circumstances and service demands.
We are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and welcome candidates with disabilities, long-term health conditions to apply for our roles. We encourage jobseekers from all backgrounds and experiences to express their interest, and to contact us at recruitment@habinteg.org.uk if you would like to chat to us or discuss reasonable adjustments for your application or interview process.
