  • Assess, track and report on student progress, providing clear feedback to pupils, parents and colleagues to support academic development.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and responsibilities, including safeguarding, and maintaining high standards of behaviour.

The Department

The Music department fosters emotional intelligence, discipline, creativity and cognitive growth. Through perseverance and expression, students develop self-awareness, motivation and unique perspectives that shape confident, capable and empathetic individuals. Alongside curriculum music, each student has the opportunity to garner the skills passed on by an outstanding team of visiting music teachers in one-to-one lessons. During the academic year there are around 16 concerts that students are encouraged to take part in, 7 annual competitions for all instrumental and vocal departments plus the chance of performing in the prestigious Haberdashers’ Young Musician of the Year in London.

About You

You will be a highly qualified and accomplished musician, holding a degree in Music or Music Education, and demonstrating a proven commitment to excellence in teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4. With strong classroom management, you foster an aspirational and engaging musical environment in which all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential. Professional, collaborative and adaptable, you communicate with clarity and purpose, uphold the highest standards of pastoral care, and contribute thoughtfully to the broader life and ethos of the School, including its safeguarding responsibilities.
