The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a full‑time Community and Supporter Relations Manager to join our School. This exciting role will lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive engagement strategy designed to strengthen relationships with our alumni, parents, donors and wider supporter community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing annual giving campaigns, donor stewardship programmes, community events and strategic engagement initiatives that foster a strong culture of philanthropy across the School. They will also manage key engagement programmes, coordinate communications activity and support fundraising initiatives, ensuring a cohesive, effective and impactful approach to community building and supporter engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the school's community engagement and alumni relations strategy, strengthening connections between alumni, parents, staff, pupils and supporters.
  • Plan and manage a year‑round programme of events, communications and networking opportunities to engage the wider school community both locally and internationally.
  • Lead annual fundraising campaigns, including Giving Days, telephone campaigns, digital appeals and direct mail initiatives to support school priorities.
  • Build a culture of philanthropy across the school, promoting volunteering, charitable giving and community involvement among pupils, staff, parents and alumni.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni and key stakeholders, ensuring effective stewardship, recognition and engagement.
  • Support fundraising for bursaries, scholarships and other strategic priorities, including identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective donors.
  • Recruit, develop and coordinate volunteers, mentors and alumni networks, working closely with colleagues to enhance careers, mentoring and community programmes.
  • Create engaging communications and impact reporting, using a range of channels to share stories, celebrate successes and demonstrate the impact of philanthropy.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, governors, volunteers and associated organisations to deliver engagement and development objectives.
  • Maintain effective systems, data management and governance processes, ensuring accurate CRM records, compliance with GDPR and delivery of insight‑led reporting.

About you

  • Educated to GCSE/O Level standard (or equivalent), including a minimum Grade B in English and Mathematics.
  • Proven experience of planning and delivering successful events, including both face‑to‑face and virtual formats for a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience of fundraising and annual giving activities, such as Giving Days, telephone campaigns, digital appeals and direct mail campaigns.
  • Track record of building donor relationships and securing financial support, including low‑to‑mid‑level gifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce professional and engaging correspondence, reports and promotional materials.
  • Highly organised and detail‑focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and able to utilise systems and technology efficiently.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and professional approach, demonstrating initiative, discretion, confidentiality and a commitment to supporting the school's development.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events, fundraising activities and the needs of the role.
